Connected Product and Product Data in accordance with Article 3(2) of the EU Data Act

Yaskawa Europe AC Drives EU Data Act | Article 3, Information for connected inverter products

Yaskawa Europe complies with the EU Data Act | Article 3 requirements for connected products, which enables product data and related service data to be made accessible to the user.

“Data Act” means Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 December 2023 on harmonized rules on fair access to and use of data and amending Regulation (EU) 2017/2394 and Directive (EU) 2020/1828.

In accordance with Article 3(2) of the Data Act, the information provided by Yaskawa Europe for a connected inverter product includes the following:

  • Type of product data
  • Format of the generated product data
  • Estimated volume of the data that can be generated by the connected product
  • Is the product data generated continuously and in real time
  • Can the connected product store data on the device itself or on an external server
  • How the user can access, retrieve, or delete the data
