European Engineers Conference (EEC) at Hattersheim

For the first time since the start of the pandemic, Yaskawa engineers from around the continent were again able to meet in person for 3 days at this year's European Engineers Conference.

In the new Yaskawa EMEA Headquarters building in Hattersheim, engineering teams shared the challenges faced in the field during the last year, as well as the lessons learned. Additionally, general solutions that can be applied to other similar applications were presented and discussed among the teams. A special focus of this year's event was training on the new i³ Controller and i³ Engineer software, which will be launched in the coming months. Engineers from R&D all the way to those actually applying the product in customer machines exchanged perspectives and ideas that can only improve the product introduction to the market and the necessary feedback loop for gradual improvements.

To round off the event, an afternoon of team and trust-building activities was held together with an expert facilitator, which left many positive impulses and allowed us to reflect on how we could better collaborate among teams.

In addition to the official program, we took advantage of the opportunity to connect also on a more personal level. On the first evening we organized a barbeque on the terrace of the new HQ building, and on the second evening there was an official dinner at a location for locals on the banks of the Main river. This allowed new colleagues and those who didn't know each other well to bond over food and drinks.

As a result of this event, we look forward to having improved collaboration and better understanding across DMC engineering teams in EMEA, as well as faster, better solutions for our customers.
