Yaskawa at “Motek” (Hall 7 – Stand 7205) - New robots as productivity drivers
10. August 2017
A highlight at Yaskawa’s stand (Halle 7 – Stand 7205) will be the collaborating Motoman HC10 robot. Equipped with an HRC gripper and automatic screw-driving unit in HRC design, it will assemble bottle openers in a new show cell and present them to stand visitors as give-aways. The system is controlled by a Yaskawa Vipa touch panel and equipped with special, new safety foot mats.
HC stands for “Human Collaborative”. The required safety in direct contact with the operator is guaranteed in the HC10 by sophisticated 6-fold force and torque monitoring.
GP series with new models
In addition, at Motek Yaskawa will be unveiling two new Motoman robot models to complement the GP series: the Motoman GP12 with a payload of 12 kg and Motoman GP25 with a payload of 25 kg. The compact and extremely fast GP series of handling robots are real productivity drivers and offer payloads of 7, 8, 12 and 25 kg. The 6-axis robots were developed for particularly fast joining, packaging and general handling applications.
Like the first models of the GP series, the new developments GP12 and GP25 are also not only the fastest in their class; the wrist axes (R, B, T) are also designed in protection class IP67. They can thus be deployed without further modification for handling and other automation tasks in harsher environments.
Its slim and compact design enables the manipulator to reach deep into the work area, and smooth surfaces facilitate the cleaning of the GP robot. Only a robot cable is required to connect the manipulator to the controller. The advantages of this solution lie in less wear and with a smaller footprint. The spares inventory and maintenance costs are also reduced. The GP series of robots is controlled with the latest Motoman YRC1000 generation of controllers. The YRC1000 is a compact, fast and flexible control unit for Motoman robots: a highly efficient robot controller combined with an extremely small cabinet, a volume of only 125 litres and a maximum weight of 70 kg.
Comprehensive Yaskawa range
Also on display at Yaskawa’s exhibition stand: the current range of drive and control technology and Vipa automation solutions. This broad range of options – unique in the industry – enables technically uniform overall solutions to be created from one source, from the standard device to the complex customized system. For example, the Sigma-7 series of servo-amplifiers with EtherCAT and Profinet interface offer numerous convenient features such as vibration suppression.
