YASKAWA extends its Training Centre for Robots and Drive Technology near Frankfurt.

YASKAWA has extended its international training facilities for robots and drive technology in Eschborn near Frankfurt.

The Japanese automation specialist YASKAWA has considerably extended its international training facilities for robots and drive technology at its European headquarters in  Eschborn near Frankfurt.

Boasting 1,700 sqm, the  “YASKAWA Academy” is the biggest facility of its kind in Europe. The training centre was officially opened on 19 January 2012 by Koichi Takamiya, European Regional Head of YASKAWA Electric Corporation, and Manfred Stern, President of YASKAWA Europe GmbH.

In 2011 alone, around 1,300 customers and partners participated in over 20 different training programs at the YASKAWA Academy. Extended by about 320 sqm, the space now offers even more comprehensive possibilities for instruction and on-the-job training in the fields of robot and drive technology. The focus of the Academy is on practical, hands-on training: 46 full-function robots open up a wide range of application scenarios. In addition, an IT-Room is available for software training courses.

YASKAWA is one of the world´s leading manufacturers of industrial robots and drive technology with an annual turnover of around 3 billion Euros. Every year, the company produces more than 1,800,000 inverters, 800,000 servos and 20,000 MOTOMAN industrial robots. This combination of robots and drive technology under one roof is also reflected in the range of products and services offered by the YASKAWA Academy.

The Japanese Corporation has had a strong presence in Germany for many years: Its Eschborn headquarters are responsible for the European drive technology business of YASKAWA Europe GmbH. In addition, the company is presently setting up a prestigious new building at the European headquarters of its Robotics Division at Allershausen near Munich.
