Robot scientist youngsters visiting YASKAWA MOTOMAN in Eschborn

15 schoolgirls and schoolboys visited the MOTOMAN Training Center on 27th of February. The robot AG of the Max-von-Gagern school in Kelkheim playfully learned how to deal with several industrial robots and also tested them also for themselves. Fun and enjoy working with robots were directly boosted for the kids. YASKAWA is supporting the robot AG not only with live demonstrations and with short instructions but also with a donation.

Robots – playful, but also unresting working horses

Welding, painting, mounting, packaging, palletising and so on and mainly playing – that is it what YASKAWA MOTOMAN robots do, the group learned under the instruction of Mr. Kähler (head of the Training Center). A power struggle with arm wrestling took place between 8 boys against a robot. The robot AG became big eyes in the showroom where two robots played ‘ludo’ against each other. Robot, equipped with a camera system are able to play dice, to recognise the number on the cube, to set the figures and to flip them from the board.

Pleasure in learning for young scientists

In the affiliated training center where normally industrial workers are educated in MOTOMAN robots, the group was amazed to see a lot of robots live at the work. They learned that a lot of robots are adopted in the automotive industry. One of the robots just moved a motor part of a Mercedes car. Another robot demonstrated a welding process whereas a table but also a welding arm were moved. The kids could also see, how a painting robot differs from other robots.

YASKAWA supports the educational initiative of the robot AG

To boost the interest in technicas furthermore and to set the course for later apprenticeships, YASKAWA MOTOMAN supports the robot AG also with a view of a future lack of engineers. YASKAWA MOTOMAN appreciated the idea of the initiators of this educational initiative to approach the general-education schools.
