Manfred Stern is the new COO and President of Yaskawa Electric Europe GmbH, Eschborn

Frankfurt, 17 June 2008. With effect from 1st of June 2008, Yaskawa Electric Europe GmbH appointed Mr Manfred Stern as its President and COO. The 52-year-old immediately takes on the role of a managing director and at the same time he is responsible for the strategic business of Yaskawa in Europe.
So for the first time since the foundation of the European headquarters in 1980, a European is part of the top management team of Yaskawa Electric Europe. In this newly created position, he reports directly to the Chairman and CEO, Yoshikatsu Minami (49), who is now responsible for the European business of Yaskawa as well as Motoman. With the appointment of Manfred Stern, Yaskawa Electric strengthens its activities in European markets.

Previously, Manfred Stern worked in different positions for the global automation equipment manufacturer, Parker Hannifin, which has its headquarters in Cleveland, USA. In his previous position as “Group Vice President Innovation & Technology”, he coordinated the development and innovation activities of the worldwide divisions of the Automation Group.
