YASKAWA “V1000 MMD” Drive Wins “Red Dot Award: Product Design”
06. July 2017
Success for Yaskawa at this year’s “Red Dot Award.” The design of the “V1000 MMD” drive excelled in the Product Design category. The award will be presented on July 3 in Essen.
The award-winning V1000 MMD from Yaskawa is a versatile, energy-saving inverter drive. The drive is suitable for various types of motors and operating modes for decentralized applications. The range of applications includes pumps, transport systems, fans, and blowers. The V1000 MMD is available as a stand-alone component, which can be wall-mounted for example. The drive is also available as part of a package solution, which can be mounted directly onto a highly efficient IE4+ motor.
These motors are up to 40% smaller than comparable IE4 motors. The minimal space requirement and reduction in weight means that machines are more lightweight and compact. A switching cabinet is also not required. The V1000 MMD is therefore an attractive option for new machines. However, it is also ideal for retrofitting or upgrading existing systems. Expensive, shielded motor cables are also not necessary. Emergency stops can be applied easily and safely using the integrated STO (Safe Torque Off) function.
International “Red Dot Award: Product Design” competition
